About Us

Anchor in Christ is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and individuals facing urgent life crises. We understand that leaving an unsafe situation is not only emotionally difficult but often financially overwhelming. Our mission is to stand in the gap when help is needed most.

We provide emergency assistance, referrals to safe shelter and housing, access to essential resources, and faith-centered encouragement to help survivors regain stability and hope. We work alongside churches, community partners, and donors to ensure no one has to walk through crisis alone.

At Anchor in Christ, we believe every person deserves safety, respect, and the opportunity to rebuild their life. Guided by our faith and compassion, we are committed to restoring hope, empowering survivors, and being a steady anchor in moments of uncertainty.

Our Mission

Anchor in Christ exists to provide safety, stability, and hope to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. Our mission is to offer safe housing, wraparound support services, and advocacy for victims who lack the financial means or resources to escape abusive situations, while fostering healing, restoration, and long-term independence.

Why Anchor in Christ Was Founded (Founder’s Story)

No One Should Have to Stay Because They Have Nowhere to Go

I started Anchor in Christ after five years of telling myself that it was not feasible.

My name is Letty, and I am a survivor of domestic violence. For over 14 years, I was in a domestic violence relationship. Even after the divorce, I continued to experience verbal and emotional abuse.

For a long time, I felt like I had no way to leave. I had been a stay-at-home mom for many years, and the struggles that come with choosing between your children and your mental well-being are overwhelming. As mothers, our children always come first, so many of us stay and endure.

Being a stay-at-home mom, I had no money to leave. I had no job, no family support during that time, and nowhere to turn. That made it even more difficult to leave. I often asked myself, where could I go with three children that would be safe?

Anchor in Christ was founded in 2025 to help survivors find a safe place during their most difficult moments. Our goal is to help victims reach safety and experience peace, even if it is only for a few nights. We want to give hope to those who feel they have no money, no family, and no support.

No one should feel trapped with nowhere to go. Anchor in Christ exists to make sure survivors have a safe place when they need it most.

Our work

Although Anchor in Christ is a newly established nonprofit, our work is focused on creating a safe and supportive environment for survivors of domestic violence. Through our Safe Harbor Program, we provide:

  • Safe Shelter: A secure place for survivors and their families to stay during times of crisis.

  • Immediate Support: Basic necessities, emotional support, and guidance to help survivors stabilize their lives.

  • Hope & Resources: Tools and connections for rebuilding independence, including guidance on life skills, safety planning, and access to community resources.

Even as a new organization, we are committed to growing our services and expanding our ability to help more survivors find safety, peace, and hope.

Every step we take is guided by our mission: to ensure no survivor has to face danger alone or feel they have nowhere to turn.
